Finnish cultivation hemp seeds.
Hemp seed is rich in essential fatty acids and gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA) and stearidonic acid (SDA). Gamma-Linolenic acid helps in the treatment of skin diseases and inflammations. Stearidonic acid is utilized in the body as an omega-3 fatty acid. Hemp fatty acids have an optimal ratio of 3:1 (omega-6 and omega-3). Hemp has a lot of vitamin E which is an important antioxidant.
Hemp seed protein contains all the essential amino acids. There are more than 500 kinds of amino acids, of which horses require 21 essential amino acids. A healthy horse body can produce 12 amino acids itself, so the rest of the nine essential amino acids should be obtained from food. Hemp is made up of 65% proteins and 35% albumin, which are of high quality and highly absorbable. Hemp protein, unlike soya, does not contain trypsin inhibitors which are known to hinder the absorption process. . Hemp is high in arginine amino acid which contributes to the formation of nitrogen oxide which is important for a good blood flow. Carbohydrates contained in hemp are all fiber. 24g of fiber is insoluble and 6g is soluble fiber. The rich fiber content helps to balance the stomach function.
